How to repair a broken scuba mask buckle

Most people pull the strap of their mask way too tight, not surprisingly resulting in a leaking mask (yes, it makes it worse) and breaking the little plastic pin of the mask buckle. The diving center ends up with lots of masks with loose straps on one side. Instead of needing two broken masks to make one good one, I will explain how we can repair all these masks with a little effort and no cost.

You just need a paperclip (the big type), an empty ballpoint pen filling (the small ink tube inside) and some basic tools.

Start by cutting the necessary piece of pencil tube.
Then put the paperclip through and bend the end in a 90° angle.
Pull the paperclip back and cut the other end, leaving just a bit to...
...bend the other side.
Put the strap through. Don't forget to put it twice through the plastic clip for the loose end (the black thing near my thumb on the photo). This one avoids the strap slipping loose if you move it all the way to the mask buckle.
Just test it and you're done.
You recovered a mask and recycled an empty pen.
